Sustainable urban mobility plans (SUMP)

2013-02-01

SUMP logoTitle: Sustainable urban mobility plans (SUMP) – trainings in Hungary

Client: European Union, Intelligent Energy – Europe (IEE) Programme

Period: 05/2011 – 02/2013

Partners: Rupprecht Consult GmbH (contractor)

Description:
SUMP planning cycle

An international consortium has been contracted to prepare a website, guidelines, awareness-raising activities and training workshops on how to develop and implement a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan. As a subcontractor, MRI was responsible for activities in Hungary.

We organised two workshops on SUMP in Hungary: an awareness raising workshop in Szentendre and a technical training in Budapest, with 48 and 15 participants respectively (most of them practitioners from different city administrations). The workshop programmes and presentations were broadly adapted to the local conditions within the framework provided by the SUMP project, and made as interactive as possible. We translated the project brochure to Hungarian, and presented the SUMP concept on the European Mobility Week conference in Kecskemét.
