2010 –
Within the program in important topics networks of 8-12 cities are formed, who work together for 3 years to jointly develop new approaches to their common development challenge. Cities of different development level (competitiveness and convergence regions) are selected for the joint work.
Each city has to create a Local Support Group, the members of which develop during the project a Local Action Plan which has to be endorsed by the local municipality. From MRI one of its managing directors, Ivan Tosics participates, who is one of the four URBACT Thematic Pole Managers. He has been in this position since 2010. Thematic Pole Managers are directly linked to the URBACT Secretariat (Paris) and help the work of the networks and also capitalize their results for broader European dissemination.
