MRI’s managing director Iván Tosics held a keynote speech on this July’s AESOP conference in Prague, on regime change and transitions in Central and East European countries.
AESOP – the Association of European Schools of Planning – was established in 1987, and has a 150 members – sadly, none of them is Hungarian. One of its focal activities is its annual large scale and successful conferences.
Its 2015 conference was held in Prague in July, with 800 participants. One of the keynote speaker was Iván Tosics, managing director of Metropolitan Research Institute. The 35 minute speech focused on the regime change and transition processes of Central and East European countries. The presentation, held in Prague’s Bethlehem Chapel, was followed by heated discussion, reacting particularly to the speaker’s point on hoping for fundamental change was illusory…
