Habitat Housing Review 2015

The 2015 Housing Review of Habitat for Humanity EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) was presented to the audience on 19 November 2015 on the 3rd European Housing Forum in Berlin, co-authored by MRI staff József Hegedüs and Vera Horváth.

The 3rd European Housing Forum was organised in Berlin, in Radialsystem V on 18-20 November 2015, co-organised among others by Habitat EMEA, UNDP, UN-Habitat, and International Red Cross and Red Crescent. On the second day conference Habitat’s 2015 Housing Review was presented, centering European housing problems around the issues of affordability, sustainability and livability. Chapter 1 (overview chapter on Housing in Europe), authored by MRI’s managing director József Hegedüs and staff member Vera Horváth,  is available on the link above, while the full report is published on Habitat International’s website.

Forum contributors included Leilani Farha, UN special rapporteur on Housing; EP representative and URBAN Intergroup member Jan Olbrycht; Greg Foster, Director of Habitat EMEA, and Judit Törökné Rózsa, DG REGIO Head of Unit for the Competence Centre for Inclusive Growth, Urban and Territorial Development. The event as well as the content of the report was distributed by the Guardian as well as Euronews.
