2016-06-07

(Im)Pact of Amsterdam: City Makers’ Summit 2016

While EU Member States concluded on the Pact of Amsterdam on 30 May, New Europe City Makers Summit was organised on 29 May in Amsterdam to contribute, bring inspiration and exchange know-how. MRI’s managing director Iván Tosics, URBACT Urban Poverty expert was among the contributors.

“We Make Europe: Cities and City Makers enhancing the (Im)Pact of Amsterdam” was jointly organised by URBACT, Eutropian, Agora Europa and Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam to contribute expertise, know-how, and feedback to European decision makers signing the Amsterdam Pact on 30 May 2016. City Makers pool knowledge from all over Europe, and demonstrate innovative ways to create resilient, liveable and inclusive cities. MRI senior researcher and managing director Iván Tosics, URBACT’s thematic expert on urban poverty, participated on multiple workshops and round tables as contributor – particularly as moderator on discussions about EU Urban Agenda partnership theme “Urban Poverty”, and on the plenary discussion on the Pact of Amsterdam.

The detailed programme of the even is available here.
