A research project on “Residential mortgage lending: social and individual risks – social consequence of the FX mortgage loan crises after 2008 in Hungary” was launched in February 2014, in cooperation between the Metropolitan Research Institute (MRI) and Hungarian Academy of Sciences – Centre for Social Sciences, Institute of Sociology (HAS CSS IS).
The project “Introducing Social Rental Agencies in Hungary”, implemented by the Metropolitan Research Institute and Habitat for Humanity Hungary and funded by Open Society Institute, aimed at developing a model for creating an affordable rental sector, by utilising vacant privately owned housing in social housing provision. Iván Tosics participated in the OECD 9th Rural Development Policy Conference “Rural-Urban partnerships: an integrated approach to economic development”, 23-25 October, 2013 Bologna, Italy.
