Iván Tosics selected again as URBACT Programme Expert
As a result of his successful bid, Iván Tosics, managing director of MRI, was selected as URBACT III Thematic Programme Expert in January 2019. He will fill his new position for the upcoming three and a half years, starting with a coordinationg meeting in Paris on 24-25 January.

Tosics worked as a project expert for URBACT in 2010. He then has become Programme Expert in 2011, and then in 2016; he currently fills the position of one in six Programme Experts (two thematic, and two methodological advisor) for the third consecutive period.

URBACT creates city networks for 3-year thematic cooperation and knowledge exchange periods, who strive to jointly develop new approaches to their shared development challenge. Cities of different development level (from competitiveness and convergence regions) are selected for the joint work.

Each city has to create a Local Support Group, the members of which develop during the project a Local Action Plan which has to be endorsed by the local municipality. From MRI one of its managing directors, Ivan Tosics participates, who is one of the four URBACT Thematic Pole Managers. He has been in this position since 2010. Thematic Pole Managers are directly linked to the URBACT Secretariat (Paris) and help the work of the networks and also capitalize their results for broader European dissemination.
