HomeLab: mobile homes under construction in Budapest

2018-04-10

The construction of From Street to Home Association’s first two mobile homes is well under way – the work began on 30 March. The two mobile homes were delivered by truck to the building site in Soroksár, District 23 of Budapest. The Association’s colleagues, together with beneficiaries, professionals and volunteers have been working on connecting the units to the utility grids, and began installing insulation. A small selection of photos is published on the HomeLab website.

Open Heritage project presented at Academy of Sciences workshop

Hanna Szemző and Andrea Tönkő presented OpenHeritage H2020 project, set to start in June 2018, on 20 March at the “Cultural Heritage, Social Cohesion and Place Attachment” workshop organised by the Institute of Sociology, Centre for Social Sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Science.

We Make Europe: enhancing the (Im)Pact of Amsterdam

The dialogue process “We Make Europe: Cities and City Makers enhancing the (Im)Pact of Amsterdam” took place in Amsterdam’s FabCity in May 2016. The moderator of the working group discussing in detail the Urban Poverty Partnership was Iván Tosics, managing director of Metropolitan Research Institute.

Redesigning Social Housing Against Poverty in Europe

József Hegedüs participated in a project meeting between 5-8 April 2016 in Brunico-Bruneck for RESHAPE – Redesigning Social Housing Against Poverty in Europe, a comparative project focusing on social housing in Southern Europe, with the aim to produce applied knowledge for a variety of housing regimes. The meeting was a follow-up to last year’s kick-off in Bolzano.

Habitat Housing Review 2015

The 2015 Housing Review of Habitat for Humanity EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) was presented to the audience on 19 November 2015 on the 3rd European Housing Forum in Berlin, co-authored by MRI staff József Hegedüs and Vera Horváth.
